Thomas A. Cooney

A co-founder of McDonald Electrical, Thomas Cooney has more than 40 years of experience in the electrical industry. Early in his career, Tom served as a project general foreman, foreman and journeyman electrician on projects throughout Greater Boston. His thorough knowledge of the electrical contracting business includes the management of electrical and security systems installations, electrical renovations, repairs, and maintenance. Tom maintains the highest industry standards at each job site and his professional approach to field operations and safety assure that each job, regardless of scope, is managed and built with the greatest integrity to meet all project requirements.

Tom leads the company’s field workforce development and recruitment activities, especially with the entry level personnel. Tom works closely with organizations like Building Pathways, the JATC, NECA, IBEW Local 103 and several vocational schools within the Greater Boston area to help draw talented and diverse people into the Electrical Construction Industry.
